Connecting to iMessage

Before connecting to iMessage, please complete the steps in the Help Desk Article: Before You Onboard: iMessage Setup Checklist

• Log into SnippetSentry
• Click “Connect” for iMessage within the Channel Dashboard
• Agree to the Terms of Use
• Agree to receive messages from SnippetSentry
• You will be placed in a queue to ensure successful registration. The number indicates your position in the queue.
• When the "You're up!" message appears, it is your turn to connect to iMessage.
• Enter your Apple ID, password, and phone number.
  • Note: If you are unsure of your AppleID credentials, go to account.apple.com and log in before attempting to connect your device via SnippetSentry.
• Once your credentials are entered, click Next to move to the next step.
  • The waiting screen may appear for up to a few minutes before your next steps become visible.

• You will receive a notification from Apple on your device. Click Allow.

  

• Next, a verification code will appear on your phone. 

  

• If your organization is set up for Two-Factor authentication, you may receive the verification code on your personal device, or whatever device your recovery settings are set up for with Apple.
• Type the verification code into SnippetSentry and then press "OK” on your phone. Click Next in SnippetSentry once the verification code has been input.
• On your device, press "OK" once you have been signed into the new Mac.

Next, you’ll turn on Text Message Forwarding on your device.

• If you have iOS 18, go to settings, scroll to the Apps section, and select Messages
  • Find "Text Message Forwarding" from the menu and select it.
  • On the message Forwarding Page, press the slider to enable forwarding to SnippetSentry.

  • Message forwarding is active when the slider is green.

    

• If you have iOS 17 or earlier, go to Settings > Messages, and turn on Text Message Forwarding.
• Once you’ve completed the steps on your phone, check the box in the SnippetSentry menu to acknowledge you have enabled message forwarding, and then click Done.

• You are connected! Click Done to close the window.
