What is SentryWatch?
SentryWatch proactively sends health check messages to confirm connectivity and identify potential issues. If an issue is detected, SentryWatch alerts both users and admins so it can be addressed quickly. Admins can set customizable alert intervals, with SnippetSentry recommending 4-7 days of inactivity for optimal performance. Persistent notifications and email alerts keep users informed until issues are resolved. To restore channel health, SentryWatch provides actionable steps, such as reconnecting the messaging channel or reconfiguring forwarding or permissions, ensuring seamless communication with minimal disruption.
This consistent approach ensures reliable monitoring and minimal disruption across all supported messaging platforms.
How does this benefit me?
SentryWatch is customizable and sends health check messages at intervals you choose. If a message is not captured, SentryWatch alerts you and, if enabled, the end user as well. This feature helps ensure full compliance while preventing gaps in message capture.
iMessage & SMS
After registering or reconnecting a channel, the user will receive a text from SnippetSentry confirming the connection is active and monitored. You can verify capture in the archive—messages appear in near real-time, but we recommend checking after about an hour for full confirmation.
How It Works
- Users with an inactive iMessage or SMS channel—meaning no messages were captured within the time frame set in SentryWatch—will receive a health check message.
- If the health check message fails to update activity for an iMessage or SMS channel, both the account admin and the end user (if end user notifications are enabled) will automatically receive an email alert. This helps ensure quick visibility into any potential capture issues so they can be addressed promptly.
