Who is it good for?
The Reporting feature is ideal for admin, team leads, and managers who need quick and actionable insights into team communication patterns and connectivity status. It provides a clear, at-a-glance overview of which team members are currently connected or disconnected, allowing admins to identify potential issues early on.
In addition to connection status, the feature offers detailed analytics on messaging activity over time. This includes metrics such as messaging activity over time, quantity of messages, and any deviation from the average. These insights are available both on a per-user basis and across the entire team.
Why is it beneficial?
The Reporting feature in SnippetSentry is ideal for admins, team leads, and managers who need quick, actionable insights into user connectivity and messaging trends. It brings key data—like connection status and message volume—into one dashboard, making it easy to spot issues early. With scheduled report delivery straight to inboxes, admins can stay informed without logging in, saving time and streamlining oversight.
Why does it save time?
SnippetSentry's reporting features saves time by centralizing user connectivity data and automating report delivery. With scheduled, recurring reports sent directly to one or more admins, they can stay informed without needing to log into the dashboard—streamlining day-to-day workflows.
This functionality is especially valuable for two key reasons:
- User connectivity status – Admins no longer need to rely on disconnect emails to monitor connection status. Reports provide a real-time, accurate view of which users are connected or disconnected, making it easier to take action.
- Phone usage tracking – The Message Activity Over Time report helps admins monitor messaging habits and ensure employees are maintaining regular messaging activity.
Scheduled Delivery
A key feature of the reporting dashboard is the ability to schedule data deliveries directly to one or more admins (even those without an account with SnippetSentry). This keeps admins informed of user messaging trends without needing to log into their SnippetSentry dashboard.

Dashboard Overview
The Message Activity Dashboard provides a comprehensive overview of messaging activity by displaying the volume and frequency of messages across various time periods and channels.
Key Benefits:
- Easily track message volume trends over time.
- Filter activity by channel to focus on specific communication streams.
- Choose between graphical and tabular data representations for deeper insight or reporting needs.
Channel Filtering
A global channel filter is available and applies to both cards in the dashboard. This means that once you select a specific channel (iMessage, WhatsApp, and/or Android), the data across the entire dashboard will update accordingly.
How to Use:
- Use the Channel Menu at the top of the dashboard to select a specific channel.
- Click Refresh to update the display after applying filters.
- Note: All channels are selected initially by default.
Messaging Activity Over Time
This card presents a bar graph displaying messaging activity over a month-to-month timeframe.
Interactive Graph Features:
Hovering Over the Bar Graph
- Move your cursor over any bar in the chart to see a tooltip with exact message counts.
- Great for getting a quick snapshot of specific time periods without leaving the page.
Clicking on a Bar
- Clicking a specific bar selects that time segment, allowing you to focus on that time window.
- After clicking a bar, a “Drill Into” option becomes available. This opens a detailed breakdown of the selected time period, showing message volume by:
- Week
- Day
- Time (Note: Message time listed is not when a message was sent or received, it is when SnippetSentry processed the message).
- This drilldown is useful for helping admin reconcile messages that are showing up in their archive.
- The drilldown supports two main ways of viewing message activity data:
- Visualization View
- A bar chart showing message trends over time.
- Table View
- A spreadsheet-style table that lists raw message data in rows and columns.
- Visualization View
- Each provides details like:
- Time (Note: Message time listed is not when a message was sent or received, it is when SnippetSentry processed the message).
- Message count
- Channel used
- You can easily toggle between Visualization and Table views using the buttons available in the interface.
Quantity of Messages
The Quantity of Messages section of the dashboard helps you monitor and analyze the volume of messages sent by users, enabling early detection of irregularities or usage patterns.
Monitor for Inconsistencies
- This feature supports your ability to identify if the quantity of messages suddenly decreases.
- Spotting these changes early can help address potential compliance issues.
Interactive Bar Graph
- The message volume is visualized using a colored bar graph, where each bar represents average monthly message capture, last 30 days message capture, and capture deviation, broken down by channel.
- To explore more details, click on a colored bar in the graph. This action opens a drill-down view, showing a detailed breakdown of the average monthly message capture, last 30 days message capture, and capture deviation broken down by user and channel.
- Within the drilldown, each user’s message quantity is displayed over a rolling 30-day period, offering a continuous snapshot of activity without needing to reset date ranges.
- This view helps track consistent behavior and spot deviations without additional configuration.
Quantity of Messages - Column Sorting Capabilities Within Drilldown
- Sort alphabetically by First Name or Last Name
- Sort by Channel Type
- Sort by Channel Status
- Sort by Average Monthly Capture
- Sort by Last 30 Days Capture Rate
- Sort by Capture Deviation
