1. Verify Attribute Mapping
In Microsoft Entra, go to your SSO Configuration.
Confirm that the following attributes are present exactly as written and have valid, non-null values:
firstNamelastNameemail
Make sure:
All attributes are correctly mapped as listed above.
No attributes have a namespace defined.
2. Test Using a User Account
Use a test account or your own account to initiate the SSO process.
Entry users must use IdP-Initiated Login, meaning they should launch SnippetSentry directly from their MyApps page in Microsoft Entra.
Watch for any attribute-related validation errors during login.
3. Review Logs for Errors
Access diagnostic logs in Microsoft Entra.
Look for error entries related to SSO, such as:
Missing or mismatched attributes
Validation failures
Note any error details for further troubleshooting.
4. Adjust Configuration & Retest
Based on log findings, update the attribute mapping or other relevant SSO settings.
Save changes.
Retest using a user account to confirm the issue is resolved.
Additional Notes
Deprecation Notice: The phone number field will not be required in future SnippetSentry registration processes. Make sure your configuration is prepared for this update.
Temporary Workarounds: If certain attributes (e.g.,
mobilePhone) are unavailable, you can temporarily use an alternative field such asbusinessPhoneuntil updates are rolled out.
